Originally founded in 1842, and rebuilt in 1920 after fire destroyed part of the original homestead, an invitation to stay at Mount William Station was highly sought after.  Positioned at the foothills of the majestic Grampians National Park, the Homestead became the spectacular backdrop to many great stories in Victoria’s rich pastoral history - welcoming dignitaries and hosting many society gatherings.  Where the ringing of the bell at 10am signalled the serving of morning tea and afternoons were spent playing tennis or strolling through the immaculate rose garden before guests danced the night away in the Ballroom.

Mount William Station now invites guests to take a step-back-in-time with the Homestead’s beautiful old-world charm and unique traditions retained, complemented with a luxuriously modern upgrade. This very special place that has provided a peaceful sanctuary to generations of family members for over a century provides a spectacular backdrop for romantic getaways that are like no other and for family and friends to gather and write their own stories that will be passed down from generation to generation.

Immerse yourself in the Homestead’s picturesque setting as you lounge by the pool with a classic novel, share your day’s discoveries as you enjoy an aperitif in the Rhino Room or indulge in a long-held Homestead tradition – the RBS Coat - when a tweed jacket (or sports coat) is a must for gentlemen when drinking and dining in the Rhino and Dining Room on Friday evenings.

Lake Anne, named after our family’s current matriarch and one of the great custodians of Mount William Station, offers guests the unique opportunity to fish for their dinner and experience the abundance of wetland wildlife and bird populations that call the private lake home.

The history of our family’s rich farming heritage remains on show with the property continuing to operate as a working stud and prime lambing farm – running Charolais cattle and sheep.  One of only seven of the same design in Australia and heritage listed, the property’s bluestone ‘working’ woolshed is a beauty to behold – full of historic relics and treasures.

When taking the Homestead exclusively, you have the option of being fully self-contained during your time with us or engage our Executive Chef to prepare a selection of gourmet meals.

When booking individually, our room rates includes a beautiful two course dinner and cafe style cooked breakfast by our Executive Chef. Lunch hiking packs or a luxury picnic basket for two can be pre-ordered for those guests wanting to just relax for the day on farm.

Whether you are enjoying a lazy breakfast, a picnic lunch as you walk to Lake Anne or a three-course dinner served in the Dining Room, - you will enjoy seasonal produce grown on our farm, that is complemented by a selection of produce sourced from the abundance of local food and wine artisans that can be found on our doorstep.

Amenities

The homestead is formatted with the following features which guests have full access to:

• The Grampians Goods Co bathroom amenities

• Iron and Ironing Board, Hairdryer

• Access to Lake Anne, the rolling English-styled gardens and our Kitchen Herb Garden

• Recreation facilities including outdoor swimming pool, sauna, mod-grass tennis court, walking areas and private fishing spot

• Landing use of the Homestead’s Helipad (must be pre-arranged and transport costs are at your own expense)

*When not taking the Homestead exclusively, individual room bookings are not able to use the kitchen facilities which are reserved for the chef only. However, guests booking the “The Owners Wing” will have their own kitchen and are welcome to use these facilities independently.

**Please note that guests staying in the Homestead do not have access to the Shearers Quarters unless they have booked Mount William Station - Homestead and Shearers Quarters - exclusively
