The Seasons

Spring

As the days slowly start to become warmer, spring brings with it a time of new beginnings and growth.  On the farm, as the adorable calves and lambs frolic amongst the paddocks, the wildflowers burst into colour. As you wander through the Rose Garden, the scent of blooming roses fills the air.

With evenings still chilly and clear night-skies, evenings are spent star gazing whilst relaxing in front of an open fire. Experience the morning beauty of Lake Anne as the mist slowly lifts in readiness for some trout fishing.

Spring in the Grampians is perfect for exploring the many walking trails, visit MacKenzie Falls as the winter rains cascade down in spectacular fashion or taste your way around the abundance of cellar doors that are waiting to be explored.

Summer

Enjoy sun swept pathways in summer with its longer days and balmy evenings.  The serenity of our backyard offers an abundance of hidden places to discover – escape the heat of the day as you lie on a rug under the shade of a tree reading a book or taking an afternoon siesta.

Cool off with a dip in the pool before enjoying an evening game of tennis – with jugs of Pimm’s waiting to be poured. Wander leisurely through the olive groves after dinner before enjoying an evening aperitif on the verandah.

Escape the heat of summer in the Grampians with trails to be walked early morning,  picnic spots to be discovered and water sports a plenty.

Autumn

As the season slowly changes, autumn brings with it crisper mornings and spectacular sunsets.  Watch the summer landscape turn to shades of green as the falling leaves provide a carpet of rich autumn colours beneath your feet.

Stroll leisurely through our English-themed gardens or plan an epic hike through the Grampians National Park – only stopping to take in the majestic views that await you.

At Mount William Station, autumn brings with it the closing of the Polo season, long lunches and picnics under the shade of our stately red gums.

Winter

Whilst winter can be a time for hibernation, it is also a season that brings its own true beauty – where scarves and coats are essential.

Rug up as you watch the morning fog clear to a brisk, clear day whilst enjoying a warming coffee on the verandah.  In the evenings, curl up in front of a roaring fire as you toast marshmallows under the beauty of a slow-moving star lit sky.

Set out to explore our wine region by day – home to some of the oldest vines in Victoria – with winter the perfect season for drinking Shiraz.  Upon returning home, unwind with a sauna before retiring to the Rhino Room for a locally distilled single malt whiskey as you relive the day’s highlights.
